In short, it's the staff that have run that shop for years that have kept the place up and running, and it is their dedication and friendly, social manner that keeps me going back.

Gone here for over a decade, always friendly staff that were willing to negotiate. It was recently bought out, remodeled and reconfigured by Area Best Pawn (the small pawn shop on Townsend next to Taco Bell). While the two employees that have been there for years are still friendly, helpful, etc., the new guys can be straight-laced pricks and are nowhere near as sociable as the old staff. They mainly operate the hunting and tools section, but it still subtracts from the experience when they glare at you and go back to talking about .338 rifles or general outdoorsman topics. It is a bit of a generalization, and there are times where they can be decent, but they tend to try and not bother with the customers unless it has to do with a gun or a tool.
As to the claims of being ripped off, yes, your Xbox 360 or PS3 are worth a meager $100 or less; they're outdated by over two generations and only basic support remains for the aforementioned consoles. As far as other merchandise, they have implemented a computer system that does everything for them as a part of the overhaul, so they will give you maybe 50% of what they will sell it for because that's what the computer tells them to do. If you hate said system, take it up with the hunting fanboys that I mentioned earlier.
