After finding two pieces of clothing amongst the lovely pieces, I found two more items in the $1 room, then told them I was ready to check out. I used my debit card and she ASKED ME FOR ID. Now, I am 65, had on my lipstick, was not dressed up but had on clothing that would indicate I could afford to buy brand-name outerwear, etc. I was highly insulted, since I don't think this is common practice.
If the shop's stock was the only thing to consider in a review, then the number of stars would rise to a qualified three.
Household items are ridiculously high. One can get many of the items in there for less at a decent store sale.
I'd love to see them move to a bigger location in the future, extra floor space and more fitting rooms and more parking spaces would be a great future addition.
It's always a pleasure coming into this store. The staff is super friendly and the store is always clean with changing inventory. This is a higher-end resale store, not a low class chain thrift store. The items are typically quality brand names or unique finds and in great shape and they do a great job decorating and shuffling inventory. They also have a military goods section in the back as well as a $1.00 room with a lot of books and household goods.
Since I saw that there were different colored price labels, I asked if it might indicate a reduction in price for some tags. Harumph. Then I was told that there was a $1 room in the back and a $5 rack outside. OK. No friendly exchange at all. And I am pretty friendly.
Big selection....and half off days ...
So we are now going to talk about the real problem with the store: a snobby, self-righteous owner. I've been in the store twice now and both times the store was being extensively re-arranged and customer access to the stock and discomfort in moving around the store didn't seem to matter a whit to the lead person in the store.
Please note that I do not review often. I review really bad service & quality and really good service & quality.
The clothing is quite nice and, though a little high priced for some items, generally the price and quality are good. I saw at least one lovely raw silk top that had a couple shadowy stains: not easy to see on the hanger but would show quite easily on one's chest. But that happens in thrift stores. I didn't price the shoes, so I can't address their quality/price relationship.
Not your typical thrift store. If you are looking to save some money by shopping second-hand this is not the place. The items are nice but overpriced for a thrift store.
Great vintage treasures and more. So many fellow shoppers actually know or have taught many of these kids. Great prices and new arrivals weekly. Put it on your to do list and enjoy a fun upbeat place to browse or shop.
I took some photos of about four pieces of clothing and sent them to a friend who lives in Crawford. She seemed annoyed at my photographing that.
Also, if this runs on just donations, I find it highly suspicious that much is given to the charity involved. It seems that stores running on this "we give to charity" premise are somewhat questionable, I think. Generally the amount given to the charity is little and is calculated on profit, not sales. Their motives are muddy, it seems.
